Midwest Mayhem: Club TR Battles, Broken Parts & a Podium at GridLife MidWest Festival
The Midwest Festival hangover was real, and not because of the afterparty. It took two full weeks to recover from the adrenaline, the disappointment, the heat, and the horsepower that detonated at GridLife’s flagship event. But now the dust has settled, and the story deserves to be told.
This one’s for the team. The car. The mission. And a long-overdue podium.
Day One: Breaking Barriers
The weekend kicked off like a rocket. The car was dialed in, and Jerami came out swinging. The result? A new personal best and finally, a sub-1:40 lap at Gingerman. That number had been looming for a while, but this time, everything clicked.
All the off-season tweaks, the FA24 swap, the countless laps of trial and error…it all came together. Jerami was locked in. The car was on rails. The confidence was real.
Day Two: Heat Check
Saturday brought brutal heat, and with it, a halt in pace across the board. Club TR as a whole struggled to top Friday’s times, and Jerami was no different. But instead of chasing seconds that weren’t there, he used the time to fine-tune; testing new lines, exploring limits, and getting smarter in every corner. The stopwatch wasn’t impressed, but the notebook was full. It wasn’t flashy, but it was crucial.
Day Three: Podium Sprint & a Gut Check
The goal was simple: send it in the Podium Sprint. And Jerami did, just with an unexpected twist. On the out lap, a loud rattle echoed through the car. Something had broken. Mentally, it threw everything off. For a split second, the plan was in question: back off or go full tilt?
He chose the latter and sent it. Hard.
But the noise had done its damage. Focus slipped. And on the second lap, he coasted across the line thinking it was over, when the third lap, all weekend long, had been the one where the magic happened. That lap never came. And the “broken part”? It was nothing, just noise.
Still, despite the chaos, despite the mental game, despite the check out on lap three, Jerami crossed the line with a P2 finish in the Podium Sprint. His first GridLife Midwest Festival podium. A breakthrough moment, six years in the making.
Resetting the Mission: Road America Up Next
MWF proved one thing loud and clear: the car is fast, and the team is ready.
No major changes are planned for Road America. That’s intentional. Last season brought constant evolution, and every round felt like a new car. This year is about consistency, confidence, and sharpening the edge that’s already there.
Jerami broke into the 1:38s, stood on the Midwest podium, and made it clear that Club TR is on notice. The only thing left now? Raise the bar again.
We’re not just happy to be here anymore. We’re here to take it.
Let’s go!
