From Paddock Problems to Podium Glory: Our Wild Weekend at GridLife South Carolina

Last year at GridLife South Carolina was a special one for us — we set a new lap record and secured our first-ever podium with a solid P3. Heading into this year’s event, we came with two clear goals: go faster than last year and get ourselves back on that podium. Simple plan, right? Well… the track had other ideas.

Session 1: Disaster Before the Green Flag

We rolled into the weekend feeling confident and fired up. But as Session 1 approached, the good vibes were short-lived. Before we could even make it out of false grid, a broken drive shaft sent us back to the paddock without turning a single lap. Not exactly how we pictured starting the weekend.

Thankfully, one of the best things about the GridLife community is how everyone looks out for each other. Huge shoutout to Dewey for stepping up and letting us grab the drive shaft off his BRZ. A quick swap in the paddock, and we were back in business for Session 2.

Session 2: Back On Track

With the car patched up and spirits restored, we hit the track for Session 2. It wasn’t perfect, but we were finally able to lay down some times and get a feel for the conditions. Not quite the pace we wanted yet, but progress is progress.

Session 3: Weather Woes

As if the weekend wasn’t already throwing enough at us, Session 3 brought lightning delays and heavy rain. Fast lap times were officially off the table. We called it early, saved the car, and set our sights on better weather for Day 2.

Day 2: Chasing the Podium Sprint

Sunday rolled in with clear skies and cooler temps — perfect for chasing down some fast laps. Each session we found more pace, steadily climbing up the leaderboard and holding strong in P4. The plan was simple: stay consistent, find time, and lock in our spot for the Podium Sprint.

By the end of Sunday morning’s sessions, we did just that. A solid final push secured us a ticket to the Sprint, and it was game on.

Podium Sprint: The Final Lap Send

The Podium Sprint kicked off with a little more drama — a black flag on our out lap caused a short delay, but once we were cleared to go, Jerami was all business. Lap after lap, he chipped away at the gap, chasing down the leader.

Then came the final lap.

Jerami absolutely drove the wheels off the car, delivering a 1:41.967 — his fastest lap of the weekend — and crossing the line to claim his first GridLife win. It was an electric moment for the whole team and the perfect way to cap off a weekend that threw everything at us.

Wrapping It Up

It was one of those weekends where nothing comes easy, but everything is worth it in the end. From broken parts to weather delays, to podium sprints and final lap sends — this is why we race.

We’ve been riding the high all week, but it’s already time to get back to work. Next stop: Road Atlanta in just a few weeks. Let’s keep this momentum going.

Huge thanks to everyone who made this weekend possible:

  • Dewey for the last-minute parts rescue

  • EBC Brakes for making sure this car can stop when it matters most

  • Graham at Boosted Performance Tuning for always working his magic and squeezing the most out of our FA24

  • SubieMods for letting us crash your paddock spot and hang out all weekend

  • And most importantly, my wife — for capturing amazing photos, keeping the crew fed, and supporting me through all this madness. It wouldn’t be the same without you. One day I swear I’ll finally take you on that trip to Ireland.🍀❤️

See you all at Road Atlanta. 👊🏁
